Vero Networks is looking for a Field Ops Fiber Technician to join our team in our Leadville location. The Field Ops Fiber Technician will be based out of our Woodland Park office and is responsible for providing on-site client installation, repairs, and maintenance of their equipment.  

The ideal candidate is prompt and reliable, has superior support skills and excellent communication. He/she will have a proven track record of client satisfaction and is motivated to provide superior service.

Responsibilities: 

  • A strong work ethic with a consistently positive attitude and a high level of integrity and personal responsibility 
  • Experience preferred but not necessary, pulling and dressing Fiber and/or Copper cables in ISP & OSP 
  • Ability to climb up or down ladders and work in confined spaces 
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle in accordance with safe driving practices 
  • Experience with OTDR, OLTS, VFL & Fluke Testing equipment a plus, but not required 
  • Ability to read and interpret Network Diagrams and/or detailed instructions 
  • The ability to travel 
  • Experience in troubleshooting skills and shows the ability to differentiate the separate components in a given network. 
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs and can carry a ladder 
  • Cat6 Cable Installation: 2 years (Preferred) 
  • Fiber Optic Installation: 2 years (Preferred) 
  • May climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet 
  • Will perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather) 
  • Must be available to work flexible hours. Weekend work may be required 
  • Experience in configuring wireless equipment such as Ubiquiti, Cambium and Nokia preferred but not necessary. 
  • MUST be willing and able to work long hours. 
  • MUST have attention to detail, work efficiently, and be under minimal supervision. 
  • Experience working in confined spaces (Manholes), Aerial, etc. 
  • Must have experience with installing & handling various fiber optic cable types including single mode & multimode.
