PROCUREMENT MANAGER

Department: Operations

Reports To: COO

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Procurement Manager role is responsible for leading and managing the procurement strategy for all materials and subcontracted services required for telecommunications construction projects. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality, compliance, and timely delivery to support business operations.. The ideal candidate brings experience in OSP fiber construction, negotiation, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage procurement activities and projects independently in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and procedures to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency.
  • Oversee sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Manage RFx processes to achieve best cost and service outcomes for our customers.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, business operations, and finance to align procurement with business needs.
  • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with vendors to ensure favorable conditions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for procurement operations.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure contingency planning for critical materials and services.
  • Coordinate materials and equipment tracking.
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement; preference for direct procurement experience with fiber network engineering or telecom infrastructure deployment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent vendor management and communication skills, with experience running RFPs, selecting contractors, and negotiating terms
  • Strong technical/business knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization
  • Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed
  • Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them
  • Strong technology skills including ability to learn new systems easily and leverage reporting and data analysis tools
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Zoho, and project management tools a plus
  • Understanding of OSP construction processes and terminology a plus
 

JOB DETAILS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This role requires occasional travel up to 10% of the time for activities such as out-of-town meetings, training, or outreach activities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • This is a staff position.
  • This is an Exempt position.
  • This is a Full-Time position.
  • This is a Remote position.
  • The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with occasional weekend availability as needed to fulfill the core duties of the role.
  • This position requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time, using a computer and other office equipment.
  • This position requires the ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as typing or using a mouse, for extended periods of time.
 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base pay is paid at an annual salary rate. The range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 depending on experience.
  • Target annual bonus for this role is 10%.
