Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and versatile FP&A Analyst to be the operational "swiss army knife" within our Finance team. This critical, high-visibility role will be responsible for a wide range of functions, blending financial planning, forecasting and analysis, treasury, tax compliance, and business intelligence. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous environment and possesses the technical skills and business acumen to drive process improvements and enhance financial command and control across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Planning & Analysis: 

  • Collaborate with the CFO and Accounting Manager to prepare the monthly financial reporting package, reviewing and analyzing performance against the established forecast and budget 
  • Own key analyses including tracking revenue realization and project installs, compensation and benefits, and key operational metrics 
  • Accurately calculate and manage monthly sales commissions for all vertical sales teams, ensuring timely and correct payouts 
  • Prepare quarterly board presentation materials for the finance function
  • Act as the "go-to" analyst for the business, performing complex ad hoc analytics and report development to enhance command and control over financial operations and support strategic decision-making 

Forecasting and Budgeting: 

  • Assist the CFO during the quarterly forecast cycle, including updating the forecast model for actuals and changes in operating assumptions 
  • Perform in-depth analysis of quarter-over-quarter changes to pinpoint profitability risks and opportunities 
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to optimize financial models to improve efficiency, and strengthen control and accuracy of the forecast process 
  • Perform rolling 4-week and 8-week cash forecasts to accurately determine proper liquidity and treasury needs, crucial for managing a capital-intensive business 

Sales Tax Analytics & Compliance (End-to-End Ownership): 

  • Own the complete end-to-end sales tax function, including performing monthly tax rating and analysis in preparation for remittance 
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance on state and local taxes assessed on customer invoicing to ensure accuracy and compliance 
  • Partner with the Sales and Product teams on appropriate product pricing and sales tax pass-throughs 
  • Lead the selection process (RFP) for a new sales tax software and reporting partner, driving implementation and integration 

System Optimization & Data Architecture: 

  • Act as the NetSuite reporting subject matter expert (SME), designing and improving financial reports and dashboards 
  • Evaluate and drive optimization of reporting processes and systems integrations to bolster accuracy, efficiency, and usability of financial and operational reports ● Partner with the Accounting Manager and Business Operations team to define the future state of our financial systems and data architecture 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field 
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or a highly analytical accounting role. Experience in telecom, construction, or other capital-intensive industries preferred 
  • Technical Expertise: expert Excel skills are required (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, index-match), including financial modeling, and complex data manipulation as demonstrated by prior work experience 
  • System Expertise: proven experience using and designing reporting with a major ERP system, experience with Netsuite and Zoho is strongly preferred 
  • Organizational Skills: exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to data integrity, and the ability to manage multiple complex responsibilities concurrently 
  • Executive Presence: excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for both finance and non-finance stakeholders including the executive team 

Job Details and Physical Requirements 

  • Occasional travel required, 1-2 times per year for company or team meetings.
  • This position requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time, performing fine motor tasks and using a computer and other office equipment.
  • The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday during normal business hours; occasional weeknight or weekend availability may be required to fulfill the core responsibilities of the role, especially during month-end and quarter-close.
  • This position is fully remote.
  • This is an exempt position 

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Salary: $75,000 - $80,000
